Review of tsunami evacuation zones for Banks Peninsula and the Kaitorete coast

Summary

Tsunami evacuation zones are the areas that people should evacuate from, or stay out of, as a precaution after a long or strong earthquake or during an official tsunami warning. This report outlines Banks Peninsula's tsunami hazard and how tsunami inundation modelling and other information was used to delineate new tsunami evacuation zones. The new evacuation zones are slightly larger than the old evacuation zones that had been in place since 2017.
